The Shaykh’s remarks on aligning in the rows with the prayer mat and closing the gaps.
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for aligning now, you do not align by your shoulders and feet; you align with the line. If you lose the line, you lose the alignment. But at the very least, you should remain packed together, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he ordered the straightening of the rows, would say, “Straighten your rows, for the straightening of the rows is part of the perfection of the prayer,” and in another narration, “part of the completion of the prayer.” He would say: So now, you are lined up with the line. Is it going well or not? This requires investigation for those who must close the gaps so that Satan does not slip through the gap.
