Is there such a thing as the supplication for the absent one, meaning that a person is absent from you and you hear nothing about them, so you recite this supplication and news about them comes to you, even if in a dream?

The questioner : The questioner, Umm al-Ajmi, says: O honorable Shaykh, is there such a thing as the supplication for the absent one, meaning that a person is absent from you and you hear nothing about them, so you recite this supplication and news about them comes to you, even if in a dream?

The Shaykh : I do not know of anything like this. However, if something is absent from a person, let him supplicate to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) to return it to him, such as saying, “O Allah, return my absent one to me,” or a phrase with that meaning. As for something narrated, I do not know of it. Yes.
