The Praise of Shaykh Ibrahim Shuqqa for Shaykh al-'Abaylan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Ibrahim Shuqqa: All praise is due to Allah; we praise Him, seek His help, and seek His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can misguide, and whomsoever He leaves to misguide, none can guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. As for what follows, the truest speech is the Book of Allah, the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the worst of matters are those that are newly invented. Every newly invented matter is a religious innovation, every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
First of all, I say—and I am not one whose words do justice to the matter when I say: May Allah reward our Shaykh Abu 'Abd al-Rahman for this word that my dear brother,The Shaykh : 'Abd Allah al-'Abaylan, whom we knew by reputation, and Allah the Mighty and Majestic willed to bestow upon us this meeting, or a meeting in our land of Amman, for we have longed for such a meeting. We know of our brother 'Abd Allah al-'Abaylan the much good that we have experienced in its entirety, and I do not say "in part" so that it encompasses all the good we have experienced in this great question that he directed to our Shaykh, our teacher, and our instructor,The Shaykh : Nasir al-Din al-Albani. And I also praise, as I have mentioned before, and I thank our Shaykh. I say: May Allah also reward our brother 'Abd Allah al-'Abaylan with good for this question, which our Shaykh elaborated upon in his answer, and may Allah reward him with good. The one who points to good is like the one who does it. So from all of us, the Muslims in general, and from us in particular in this gathering, and from the Muslims in general, we offer you all thanks and all praise. For whoever does not thank people does not thank Allah. So may Allah reward you both with good. And if our Shaykh, may Allah reward him with good, permits me to mention some matters related to this—not a brief word, but rather this precious and great lecture—if our Shaykh, may Allah reward him with good, permits me. I am not one who follows up on his words, and far be it from me to do so. You have known from me what you have known of my conduct with you, which I know of myself before people know it. But it is necessary to mention some matters related to this precious and great lecture, not to complete its benefit, but to remind our brothers in all corners of the world, in whose hands this important, great, and precious tape will fall, if Allah wills, so that they may have from the good and benefit what we heard from you. May Allah bless you, prolong your life, bestow health upon you, and let the Muslims enjoy your knowledge.

The Shaykh : Please, you are welcome.
