The questioner : So the people differed, O Shaykh.
The Shaykh :[Hud 11:118-119] This is a text in the Noble Qur'an [Hud 11:118-119] So disagreement is very natural, and there is no salvation or escape from it except by holding fast to the Book and the Sunnah; therefore, if a disagreement occurs, the disputants must do two things. The first is that the disagreement must not become a cause of discord and division that leads to schism and factionalism; and the second is that they should return to Allah and His Messenger in that matter, as Allah the Mighty and Majestic said in the Qur'an: [An-Nisa 4:59] I believe that in many issues, there is excess and deficiency.

but they will not cease to differ. (119) Except whom your Lord has given mercy
(118) And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ. (119) Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together."
And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result.
