Is it permissible to support the national fighting taking place in northern Iraq with money, and what is the ruling on one who is forced by the ruler to call to it there?

The questioner : There is another question.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with the best reward. In the north, what they claim to be jihad has appeared. The jihad in the north, as we have learned from some, is not clear. Not clear in the sense that it is...

The Shaykh : National. National.

The questioner : National, and the fronts are mixed among themselves, so the clear banner is not known. That is, the banner is not clear. This perhaps has an answer that follows it. Are there cases of financial assistance between us, the Arab Muslims in the central and southern regions, on a limited scale of financial assistance only to them? Is that permissible or not?

The Shaykh : This depends, may Allah bless you, on your view of the jihad. This is either prescribed or not prescribed. That is from one aspect. From another aspect, it is between assistance for the jihad and assistance for the individuals who are affected by this jihad with hunger, nakedness, and the like of such matters. I think the difference has become clear to you, or the answer has become clear to you.

The questioner : All right, Shaykh.

The Shaykh : If you consider the jihad to be not prescribed, then it is not permissible for you to support this non-prescribed jihad, except if the intention behind this assistance is not the jihad itself, but rather what results from it for the individuals in terms of poverty, hunger, and the like.

The questioner : All right, Shaykh. If we know that the channels for delivering these aids are only through individuals who belong to the jihad groups there, because there are obstacles to assisting the individuals directly.

The Shaykh : The same answer applies.

The questioner : The same answer applies.

The Shaykh : Meaning, if these individuals are trustworthy with you, and they deliver the trust to its rightful owners, and they do not exploit it for their private interests, then the answer is the same. But if they are not trustworthy, then no.

The questioner : And following that is the ruling on the man who is requested to call to guidance and instruction there, only, that is, in the capacity of calling to guidance and instruction.

The Shaykh : Like the previous answer regarding the call. If there is nothing behind it more than cooperating with them on what the one being called sees, then it is permissible. Otherwise, it is not permissible.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Clear.

The questioner : Very clear. May Allah reward you with the best reward.

The Shaykh : And you as well.

The questioner : We ask another question, O Shaykh.
onAl-Halabi : If your wind blows, seize it.

The Shaykh : Yes, please.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with the best reward.

The Shaykh : And you as well.
