The meaning of the poet's statement: "But if one describes the Divine with every *** attribute of absolute, divine perfection, and denies defects and blemishes, just as He denies *** likening the Most Merciful to creation"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"But if one describes the Divine with every *** attribute of absolute, divine perfection"
Who is this? The people of the Sunnah.
"and denies defects and blemishes, just as He denies *** likening the Most Merciful to a human being"
So they have two denials; that is, the people of the Sunnah have two denials:
The first denial: denying defects and blemishes.
The second denial: denying similarity between the Creator and the created.
"So for what reason was your war against him *** in earnest, rather than against the one who denies the attributes of the Most Merciful"
In your view, is it in earnest or in jest? By Allah, it is better in earnest.
"So for what reason was your war against him *** in earnest, rather than against the one who denies the attributes of the Most Merciful"
Meaning, with what do you fight the people of denial, O people of denial? With what do you fight the one who follows the Sunnah and the reports, rather than the one who denies the attributes of the Most Merciful from among the philosophers and the atheists?
