The Condition of the Muslims in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Call to Assist Them and Pray for Them
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And what is the condition of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina? Their condition is not far from us. We have heard of the abominable deeds that no one with a conscience would commit, even if he were the most disbelieving of the servants of Allah. A man comes to a girl and commits zina (unlawful sexual intercourse) in front of her father and her mother. The heart bursts with blood and the liver shatters when one sees his enemy having intercourse with his daughter or his sister, or with his wife or his mother, or with others among the great abominations for which the forehead sweats. Therefore, I urge you and myself to flee to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and to supplicate to Him to relieve the affliction of these brothers who have been struck by this calamity, and to humiliate every enemy of Islam, whether they be Christians, Jews, polytheists, atheists, or hypocrites. Supplicate to Allah, O my brothers. Supplicate to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Spend from your wealth. Do you want this to be done to your brothers while you are heedless of the blessings, secure on your beds? Where is the brotherhood of faith? Where is the manliness? That the Christians should do these deeds to our brothers, and many of us do not know what they have done, or their hearts do not tremble at what they have done. It is obligatory upon us to turn to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) with supplication in our prostrations, in the last part of the night, between the adhan (call to prayer) and the iqamah (second call), and in all conditions, times, and places where response is hoped for. Supplicate to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to grant them victory, to relieve their affliction, to grant them the necks of their enemies, and to make them inherit their land, their homes, their wealth, their women, and their offspring. And supplicate to Allah also against those who helped and assisted them, whether secretly or openly, that He may crush them, cause them to fail, and send down upon them His wrath which is not averted from the criminal people, and that He may scatter the unity of their governments until they fall into tribulation, evil, and fitnah (trial, discord or temptation). They are enemies, whatever they are. Every disbeliever, whether Jewish, Christian, or polytheist, is an enemy to you. They never wish you good, and they will not benefit you with any good unless they have taken from you more than they have given you. So we ask Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in this place to grant victory to our brothers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to relieve their afflictions, to humiliate their enemies, and to grant them the necks of their enemies through capture, killing, and expulsion, and to make them inherit their homes, their women, and their wealth. Indeed, He is the One capable of that and able to do it. And we ask Allah (the Exalted) to relieve all the Muslims in every place who have been oppressed by the enemies of Islam, and to guide the callers to Islam to wisdom, patience, and approaching matters through their proper doors, so that the intended goal is achieved and the disliked is removed. Indeed, He is the One capable of that and able to do it. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our master Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and upon his family and his companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Resurrection.
The student: Do we supplicate to Allah in the standing?
The Shaykh : We supplicate to Allah in the standing, and we ask Allah to reward our imam this night with good for his supplication in the qunut (a supplication made standing in prayer) with what we wish to supplicate with, and to grant success to our remaining imams and the imams of our brothers in all lands of Islam with such a supplication.
