And the call to worship: that you worship Allah the Exalted in accordance with these names, so you turn to Him in repentance because He is the One who accepts repentance, and you remember Him with your tongue because He is the All-Hearing

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And the call to worship: that you worship Allah the Exalted in accordance with these names" If you know that He is the One who accepts repentance, you strive to repent. Do you not, O man?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, you strive to repent because you know that He is the One who accepts repentance, and he gave an example.
"So you turn to Him in repentance because He is the One who accepts repentance, and you remember Him with your tongue because He is the All-Hearing, and you worship Him with your limbs because He is the All-Seeing, and you fear Him in secret because He is the Subtle, the All-Aware, and so on" For example, you know that among the names of Allah is the One who accepts repentance. What does this knowledge imply? That you repent to Him because He is the One who accepts repentance, and you do not despair. You know that He is the All-Hearing. What does this knowledge imply? That you avoid every word that Allah the Mighty and Majestic does not approve of. If you do not do so, is your faith in the All-Hearing what? It is deficient. For example, you know that Allah the Exalted hears everything you say, yet you go and backbite people, even though Allah the Mighty and Majestic has forbidden you. Have you then realized the faith that He is the All-Hearing? No, because if you had realized it, you would have avoided what angers Him. You believe that He is the All-Seeing, who sees everything. If you did what He does not approve of, would you have realized the faith that He is the All-Seeing? No. So, to worship Allah in accordance with these names and their implications is to encompass what their meanings include.
He says: "And you remember Him with your tongue because He is the All-Hearing." You say, "There is no god but Allah," because you believe that Allah hears. Good.
