Addendum to the benefits of the verse: “And when We parted the sea for you and saved you, and drowned the family of Pharaoh while you were looking on”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And for this reason, Allah mentioned this blessing to them, which is: that their enemy was drowned while they were watching.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is also the reminder to the Children of Israel of what Allah bestowed upon them when He parted the sea for them. The reason the address is directed to those who were present in the time of the Messenger is that Allah’s bestowal upon the community in its beginning is a bestowal upon it in its end. This is one aspect. Another aspect comes to mind now, which applies to what was mentioned before: that these present people are the descendants of the predecessors, and if the predecessors had perished, the later ones would not have existed. Therefore, the saving of the first group is, in reality, a saving of them, though not directly. Thus, these people are among the previous blessings of being saved from drowning or from being killed by Pharaoh. There are two aspects: the first aspect is that what happened to the first of the community is for the last of them. The second aspect is that these people are the descendants of the predecessors, and if the predecessors had perished, these people would not have remained. So in their remaining, there is the remaining of these later people.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is the clarification of the power of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). The indication of this is: that this flowing substance, which is water, merely by Moses striking it with his staff, it split. And you know the Red Sea; what is its length? Its length is, of course, long, but its width, for example, from Africa to Asia, its width is long. I do not count it, but there is no doubt that ships sail in it. But in one moment, with one strike, the entire sea split and became a dry path. So in it is evidence of the perfection of the power of Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
And among its benefits is the refutation of the naturalists and their claim that things proceed according to their natures, and that water is flowing; it is flowing and freezes when cold. We say to them: Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) created natures for water, and He (Glorified and Exalted is He) is able to change these natures.
Among the benefits of this noble verse is that a known thing may be mentioned in a general form, due to His saying:
the seaالبحر
because the article “al” in “the sea” is for mental reference, otherwise it is known that if we said it was for generality, the mind would go in every direction: which sea is it? But since it was known, it did not need specification, being content with what? With the “al” which is for mental reference. Good. And branching from this rule is: if a person says, “By Allah, I will speak to the judge today about what happened in the town,” and then he goes to a man from the judges who is not one of the legal judges, but from the tribe known as “the judges,” and he goes and informs one of them about what happened, is he faithful to the oath or has he broken it? He has broken it, because the apparent meaning of the wording is that the “al” is for mental reference.
