The Shaykh : Muhammad ibn 'Umar al-Adunisi says.
Does it require a takbir in the sitting of rest, or is the takbir of standing sufficient?

Should we sit for the sitting of rest so that we can follow you in the prayer?
The answer to the first point is that it does not require a takbir, and this indicates that this sitting is not intended, because there is no dhikr in it and no dhikr for transition or staying, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) only did it out of necessity.
As for my telling you that you do not know whether I will sit, I say to you: I do not sit, because, praise be to Allah, I am able to stand up, but if my sitting pains me, I will sit, yes, if Allah wills, if Allah wills, good, yes.
