A man had been generous with his maid, and when she traveled, some of her money remained with him. Does the money he had previously given her as a gift offset the money of hers that is in his possession?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
A man had a worker in his household, and he gave her a sum of money to buy some necessities for her. He brought back what she wanted, but her money remained and he forgot to give it to her. She left without returning. What is the ruling regarding the remaining money, even though he had been more generous to her than that amount?

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for him to search for this maid, to find out where she is and where her family is, and how to deliver the remaining money to her. If he is unable to do so, he should give it in charity, meaning he should intend that the reward belongs to her. As for what he had previously given her as a gift, that is gone with its reward, and he cannot reclaim it with this money. Yes.
