A man who traded in land, then died, and his heirs remained for a full year after his death to inventory his estate; is zakah obligatory on what this deceased man left behind in this year?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A man who bought and sold land, trading in it, then passed away, and his heirs remained after him for a full year to inventory his estate, and they did not sell anything from it. Is zakah obligatory on it for the year following his death?

The Shaykh : We look at these heirs: Did they intend to trade with it? If they intended to trade with it, then they owe zakah on trade goods. But if they did not intend to trade with it, then they do not owe zakah, because one of the conditions for the obligation of zakah on trade goods is that a person intends to trade with them. However, if they are waiting for when it will be divided, and then each person sells his share, they do not owe zakah.
