It is known that the imam's sutrah serves as a sutrah for the ma'mum. Does the imam's sutrah remain a sutrah for the ma'mum who stands up to make up missed parts of the prayer after the imam has finished, or does it not?

The questioner : I say: We know that the imam's sutrah serves as a sutrah for the ma'mum. So, when the imam finishes his prayer and the ma'mum stands up to make up what he missed, does the imam's sutrah remain a sutrah for the ma'mum, or does the imam no longer serve as a sutrah for the ma'mum after he prays alone?

The Shaykh : Now the ma'mum is praying alone. When the imam said the taslim, the ma'mum became one who prays alone, so the imam's sutrah does not serve as a sutrah for him. In fact, the imam is no longer an imam for him, because he turned away and left his place. But is it prescribed for the ma'mum, after he stands up to make up what he missed, to take a sutrah? What appears to me is that it is not prescribed, and that the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), when they missed something, made it up without taking a sutrah.
Then, even if we said that it is recommended to take a sutrah, or that it is obligatory according to the opinion of those who hold that a sutrah is obligatory, the general rule is that one needs to walk and move, and we do not permit this except with clear evidence. Therefore, it appears that we say to the ma'mum: The imam's sutrah ended with you, and you do not take a sutrah, because taking a sutrah during the prayer has not been reported. Rather, the sutrah is taken before beginning the prayer.
