The Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer-10a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu Bakr ibn Nafi' al-'Abdi narrated to me, saying: Bahz ibn Asad al-'Ami narrated to us, saying: Hammad ibn Salama narrated to us from Thabit that they asked Anas about the ring of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the 'Isha' prayer one night until half the night had passed, or nearly half the night had passed. Then he came and said: "The people have prayed and gone to sleep, but you have not ceased to be in prayer as long as you were waiting for the prayer." Anas said: "It is as if I am looking at the gleam of his ring made of silver, and he raised his left index finger with the ring on it."
.

The Shaykh : Where is the index finger? The last one, yes. In this hadith, there is evidence for what was mentioned previously regarding delaying the prayer, and that delaying it is better if it does not cause hardship. It also contains evidence for the permissibility of wearing a ring, and that it should be on the index finger and on the left hand.
