She says in her letter: I have a house, and there is a better place in it where I sit, and in front of me are two bathrooms, and I pray facing them.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : I have a house, and there is a better place in it where I sit, and in front of me are two bathrooms, and I pray facing them, facing these bathrooms. It has been about five months since I have been praying with them in front of me. Now I do not know whether it is permissible for me to pray facing them or not, and whether my prayers that I have missed are valid or not, and I did not know. May Allah guide you.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
It is not befitting for a Muslim to pray facing such dirty, impure places, because when the one who prays prays, Allah the Exalted accepts his face. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the one who is praying to spit in front of him or to his right, but rather to spit to his left or under his foot. However, her past prayers are valid because she prayed in a pure place, not an impure one, but facing an impure place. Praying facing an impure place, or facing any place where prayer is not valid, if it is in a place where prayer is valid, is valid, except for what has been forbidden by the prohibition, such as praying facing graves. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Do not pray toward graves لا تصلوا إلى القبور
Sunan an-Nasa'i 760Sahih (Darussalam)
as narrated by Muslim from the hadith of Abu Mirdad al-Ghunawi
Do not pray toward graves and do not sit on them. لا تصلوا إلى القبور ولا تجلسوا عليها
Sunan an-Nasa'i 760Sahih (Darussalam)
So praying facing graves is forbidden and invalid. But praying facing what is not valid for prayer, other than a grave, if it is from the dirty places, it is not befitting, rather a person should stay away from that, but his prayer is valid.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.
