Benefits of the Hadith: (… Then he said: What is the matter with a group of people who said)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This hadith provides evidence that whoever leaves marriage out of a desire to do so, not because of a lack of desire, but for the sake of worship and monasticism, is not of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in any way. This clearly indicates the prohibition of leaving marriage for the sake of worship and monasticism, because the least of what is involved in this seclusion is that it is among the major sins. These Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were striving in their efforts, so they asked about the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) private conduct, meaning what is known only to his household. It was as if they considered this conduct to be insufficient, and they said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had been forgiven for what came before of his sin and what came after, so it is no wonder that his conduct is like this. But we are not like that, so we must do more work. However, they (may Allah be pleased with them) exerted themselves and made a mistake. It also provides evidence that it is incumbent upon a role model in his knowledge or position, when something occurs that necessitates it, to stand up and speak, following the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so that religious innovation does not spread, or so that guidance contrary to the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not spread. Yes.
