The Book of Marriage, Breastfeeding, Divorce, Mutual Oath-Swearing, and Manumission-02b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, saying: Ibn Numayr and Abu Usamah narrated to us from 'Ubayd Allah from Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Abu Hurayrah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah forbade Shighar. نهى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الشغار
Sunan Ibn Majah 1884Sahih (Darussalam)
Ibn Numayr added
And shighar is when a man says to another man: Marry me your daughter and I will marry you my daughter, or marry me your sister and I will marry you my sister والشغار أن يقول الرجل للرجل: زوجني ابنتك وأزوجك ابنتي أو زوجني أختك وأزوجك أختي
.

The Shaykh : And in this, it was not mentioned that there was no mahr (bridal gift) between them. This is consistent with the opinion we referred to, which is that shighar is marrying the other woman in shighar, even if the mahr is named.
