Explanation of the author's statement: "Then they differed regarding what the intellect does not necessitate affirming or denying, so most of them denied it and interpreted what came of it as metaphorical

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : We return to the topic of the lesson.
Now, this group agreed on two matters, all the deniers: that what the intellect affirms must be affirmed, and what it denies must be denied.
Then they differed regarding what the intellect does not necessitate affirming or denying: so what did most of them do? They denied it.
And how do they interpret what came in the Book and the Sunnah? They interpret it as metaphorical. And some of them suspended judgment on it and delegated its knowledge to Allah, saying: Allah knows best. But look at the contradiction: while denying that it indicates any of the attributes, he says: I say Allah knows best, but it does not indicate any of the attributes. What do you say about this statement? This is a contradiction. How can you delegate knowledge to Allah, and then say it does not indicate anything? So you did not delegate it, rather you judged by what? By denying that it does not indicate, and this is also a contradiction among this group of the suspending party; they have this contradiction which the author pointed out. And Allah knows best.
... that what the intellect affirms, they affirmed it regardless of whether it exists in the Book and the Sunnah, and what it denied? They denied it, whether it exists in the Book and the Sunnah or not. And what the intellect does not necessitate affirming or denying, most of them denied it, and some of them suspended judgment on it, and said: I do not affirm it, because the intellect does not affirm it, and I do not deny it, because the intellect does not deny it.
It was previously mentioned that this method is defective, and that if we adopted it, the attributes of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) would be left to whom? To the minds of humans, and the minds of humans are undoubtedly very different, to the extent that one of these theologians affirms in some of his books what he denied in other books, and affirms for Allah what he previously said was impossible for Him, and makes impossible for Allah what he previously said was obligatory for Him.
So this is an invalid method.
The Shaykh al-Islam says: "Indeed, these people in their method". He says: "Indeed, they".
