Refuting the People of Theology in Their Interpretation of "La ilaha illa Allah" as "The One Capable of Creation"

It has been mentioned previously that the theologians interpret this great phrase by saying that its meaning is what? The One capable of creation. They interpreted it in a way that the polytheists themselves acknowledge, yet they were not monotheists. The polytheists acknowledge that Allah is the One capable of everything, that Allah is the Creator, the Provider, the Giver of life, the Giver of death, and the Manager of affairs. And yet, are they monotheists? No, rather they are polytheists. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) fought them because they did not realize the meaning of "La ilaha illa Allah." It is astonishing that these polytheists were more understanding of the meaning of "La ilaha illa Allah" than these theologians. Many of the later theologians, if you read their books, you will find that their discourse on divinity revolves only around establishing lordship. This is a great deficiency. Lordship is acknowledged by the polytheists, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not make them monotheists for that. He did not make their acknowledgment a way out of disbelief, nor a protection for their wealth and blood, nor a salvation from the Fire. Rather, he fought them and made their wealth and blood lawful, and took their women and offspring as captives, while they were saying, "Our Lord is Allah." If they were asked who created the heavens and the earth, they would say, "Allah." If they were asked who created them, they would say, "Allah." If they were asked who gives life and death, they would say, "Allah." If they were asked who manages the affairs, they would say, "Allah." And yet, this belief did not benefit them. Acknowledging that Allah is the Creator of the universe, its Manager, and the One who disposes of it is never sufficient for monotheism. And whoever dies upon that without believing that there is no true object of worship except Allah has not died upon monotheism.
