Reading from the author's text with commentary and collation of manuscripts: "As for the recommendation to leave it off for the benefit of differentiation, provided there is no harm in leaving it off

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: "As for the recommendation to leave it off for the benefit of differentiation, provided there is no harm in leaving it off; this is apparent based on the preceding discussion of differentiation. The Shari'ah may obligate us to differ from them in this matter. It may also obligate them to differ from us, as in clothing and the like. It may be limited to recommendation"

The Shaykh : For this reason, 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered the dhimmis (non-Muslims under Muslim protection) not to wear clothing like ours, even though they were accustomed to it. He ordered them to wear clothing that differs from ours. Why? So that the differentiation is clear and the disbeliever is distinguished from the Muslim. If you pass by someone in the market, you know he is a disbeliever because his clothing is the clothing of disbelievers. Yes, exactly. But this was when Islam was honorable, may Allah honor us and you with it.
The reciter: Amen.

The Shaykh : Yes
The reader: "It may be limited to recommendation, as in dyeing the beard, praying in leather socks, and prostration. It may reach the level of dislike, as in"
The student: Praying in leather socks...

The Shaykh : how
The student: And praying in leather socks and the pre-dawn meal

The Shaykh : And I, honestly, it is not clear to me. Praying in leather socks and prostration, in my opinion...
The reader: And the pre-dawn meal, I, and prostration

The Shaykh : And prostration is, in any case, the pre-dawn meal is better, because prostration does not have a specific form for them, except for the Jews. It was said that when they prostrate, they prostrate on their side, meaning they seem to turn around. The origin of this is when the mountain was raised above them, Mount Tur, and they prostrated, they were prostrating but raising their faces so that they could look to see if it would not fall on them. And they took this as their religion.
The reader: "It may reach the level of dislike, as in delaying the Maghrib prayer and breaking the fast. This is unlike imitating them in what was taken from them, for the original ruling in that is prohibition, as we have mentioned"

The Shaykh : In our copy, as we mentioned here, that is the end.
The student: Do we correct it to the pre-dawn meal?

The Shaykh : Yes
The student: The pre-dawn meal

The Shaykh : Copy, copy
The reader: It is in the second volume. "Chapter on the Festival: The word 'festival' is a generic noun" That is all.

The Shaykh : A generic noun, here.
The reader: No, I did not say it is a generic noun.

The Shaykh : I heard you say the festival is a generic noun.
The reader: The clock rang.

The Shaykh : No, the clock is not ringing now. This is the last ring.
The reader: Ba.

The Shaykh : No, five minutes left. I think this is the first one.
The reader: Time for questions.

The Shaykh : Yes, meaning time for questions. Okay.
