Commentary on the author's statement: "There is no doubt that whoever does it while interpreting, exercising independent reasoning, or following a scholar, has a reward for his good intention and for his action, insofar as it contains what is prescribed"

The Shaykh :"There is no doubt that whoever does it while interpreting, exercising independent reasoning, or following a scholar, has a reward for his good intention and for his action, insofar as it contains what is prescribed" He has a reward, and he is an innovator. Why? Because he is interpreting and exercising independent reasoning. The dhikr, or the fasting, or the late-night prayer, their origin is prescribed. But its being at this time, or in this place, or in this manner is not prescribed. So if a person exercises independent reasoning and errs in the manner, or the place, or the time, he has the reward of independent reasoning. But if the guidance becomes clear to him, he has followed the path of those who do not believe. And Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination. ومن يشاقق الرسول من بعد ما تبين له الهدى ويتبع غير سبيل المؤمنين نوله ما تولى ونصله جهنم وساءت مصيرا
[An-Nisa 4:115]
The important thing, my brothers, is that this is a useful principle, even in matters of creed. For example, we now have men who are scholars, exercising independent reasoning, and sincere to Islam and to the Muslims, who err in some matters of creed. Do we say that these people are sinful and open sinners? No, by Allah, we do not say that. Rather, perhaps they are closer to Allah than many of those who affirm [the attributes]. But we say that we know they are exercising independent reasoning, and we know that they do not want anything but the truth, because of their sincere record in Islam and in defending it. But if Allah Mighty and Majestic wills to withhold guidance from them, these people are excused. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If a judge passes judgment and strives to reach the right conclusion and gets it right, he will have two rewards; if he strives to reach the right conclusion but gets it wrong, he will still have one reward. إذا حكم الحاكم فاجتهد فأصاب فله أجران وإن أخطأ فله أجر
Sunan an-Nasa'i 5381Sahih (Darussalam)
So it is obligatory to speak with justice and fairness, and not to burden people with rulings of Allah the Exalted that do not apply to them. And success is from Allah.
Salim, the questions after the adhan are only in two lessons: fiqh and hadith, if Allah wills. The next lesson is not far off. No, it does not require detail. Yes.
