The reader: He (may Allah have mercy on him) said in *Iqtida' al-Sirat al-Mustaqim*: "And it is clear that this cause is valid, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed those who take the graves of the prophets as mosques. It is known that the graves of the prophets are not dug up, nor is their soil ritually impure. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said about himself:
O Allah! Do not make my grave an idol that is worshipped. اللهم لا تجعل قبري وثنًا يعبد
Muwatta Malik 9:93
. And he said:
Do not take my grave as a festival لا تتخذوا قبري عيدا
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 5:1006
, so it is known that his prohibition of that is of the same kind as his prohibition of praying at the rising of the sun and at its setting; because the disbelievers prostrate to the sun at that time. So the means to harm are blocked and the source is cut off by not praying at that hour, even if the one praying does not pray except for Allah and does not call upon except Allah. Likewise, he prohibited taking graves as mosques, even if the one praying near them does not pray except for Allah and does not call upon except Allah; lest that lead to calling upon them and praying to them. And both matters have occurred, for among people are those who prostrate to the sun and other stars and call upon them with various supplications and glorifications, and wear for them clothing and rings which they think are appropriate for them, and seek out the times, places
.

The Shaykh : times.
The reader: times.

The Shaykh : I said times.
The reciter: Heard.

The Shaykh : You said times. Did you think it was a sound feminine plural?
The reader: Yes, indeed

The Shaykh : And what is it?
The reader: It is annexed.

The Shaykh : It is annexed to the sound feminine plural, so it is with kasrah. But I say that it is with nasb: times.
The reader: times?

The Shaykh : Yes, have you memorized the *Alfiyyah*?
The reader: No, Shaykh.

The Shaykh : You missed a lot.
The student: It is a broken plural and the taa is original.

The Shaykh : The taa is original, and Ibn Malik says: "And what was pluralized with a taa and an alif" Yes, that is right.
The reader: "and seek out the times, places, and incenses which they think are appropriate for them. And this is one of the greatest causes of shirk (associating partners with Allah) by which many of the first and last have gone astray; until it became widespread among many who claim to belong to Islam. And some of the famous scholars wrote a book on it titled: 'The Hidden Secret in Sorcery and Addressing the Stars,' following the method of the polytheists of India and the Sabians, and the polytheists of the Arabs and others, such as Taptam the Indian, Malikusha the Babylonian, and Ibn Wahshiyya"

The Shaykh : and Malikusha.
The reader: I have a tanween, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Yes, and Malikusha.
The reader: Malikusha the Babylonian?

The Shaykh : This alif is a lengthening, and Malikusha the Babylonian.
The reader: I have a tanween, I have a tanween, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Malikusha?
The reader: Malikusha.

The Shaykh : It does not fit, because of Taptam the Indian.
The reader: I have it written: in A or T: Malikusha.

The Shaykh : This is the correct one.
The reader: And I have Malikusha.

The Shaykh : No, no, this is a foreign name, it is not tanweened.
The reader: Okay, does it become: Malikusha or Malikusha?

The Shaykh : No, I have Malikusha the Babylonian.
The reader: He indicated in my copy, O Shaykh, it says: Malikusha.

The Shaykh : I have it with the lam before the kaf...
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Yes, and what do you have?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : But I have Malikusha, go away, men, may Allah have mercy on Ibn Taymiyyah, Allah is the helper.
The reader: "and Malikusha the Babylonian, and Ibn Wahshiyya, and Abu Mash'ar al-Balkhi, and Thabit ibn Qura, and their like, who entered into this shirk and believed in the jibt and the taghut, while they claim to belong to the People of the Book".

The Shaykh : I have "and they claim to belong to the Book."
The reader: I have it written: "Ahl" was dropped from A, W, J, D, and T.
The reader: "As Allah the Exalted said:
(51) Have you not seen those who were given a portion of the Scripture, who believe in superstition and false objects of worship and say about the disbelievers, "These are better guided than the believers as to the way"? (52) Those are the ones whom Allah has cursed; and he whom Allah curses - never will you find for him a helper.
[An-Nisa 4:51-52]
.
And more than one of the Salaf said: "The jibt is sorcery, and the taghut is the idols." And some of them said: "The Shaytan." And both are true.
These people combine the jibt, which is sorcery, and shirk, which is the worship of the taghut, just as they combine sorcery and calling upon the stars. And this is something known with necessity from the religion of Islam—indeed, from the religion of all the messengers—that it is forbidden shirk. Indeed, this is one of the greatest types of shirk for which the messengers were sent to prohibit it. And the address of Ibrahim al-Khalil (peace be upon him) to his people was regarding this kind of shirk"
