Explanation of the Book of Sales-13

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "And from 'Urwah al-Barqi (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet (ﷺ) gave him a Dinar to buy a sacrificial animal or a sheep. He bought two sheep with it, sold one of them for a Dinar and came back to him with a goat and a Dinar. So he invoked blessings on him in his business dealings, and he was such that if he had bought soil (of the earth) he would have made profit from it.
Bulugh al-Maram 7:48
The five [compilations] narrated it except al-Nasa'i, and al-Bukhari included it within a hadith without quoting its wording"
:
Now, this hadith states that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) gave 'Urwah al-Barqi a dinar to buy a sacrificial animal with it, or he said:
to buy a sheep with it ليشتري به شاة
, and there is no contradiction between the two wordings, for he gave it to him to buy a sheep for sacrifice, and some of the narrators may have limited themselves to one of the wordings. Otherwise, he gave him a dinar to buy a sheep with it to sacrifice, so (may Allah be pleased with him) he bought two sheep for one dinar, then sold one for a dinar, and then returned with a sheep and a dinar. So the Prophet (may the prayers and peace of Allah be upon him) gained a sheep and did not lose anything, is that not so?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed for blessing in his trade as a reward for his good conduct, because this man handled the matter well; he bought two sheep for a dinar and sold one sheep for a dinar.
So he prayed for blessing فدعا له بالبركة
: as a reward for his good conduct. So Allah accepted the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him),
he was such that if had he bought dust he would have made a profit from it فكان هذا الرجل لو اشترى ترابا لربح فيه
Sunan Abi Dawud 3384Sahih (Al-Albani)
.
And his saying:
dirt ترابًا
means if he had bought something of no value, because dirt has no value, he would have made a profit in it, and that is by the blessing of the prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The author mentioned this hadith in the Book of Sales because it includes a sale and an agency in the sale, and it includes many matters of sales that will be mentioned in the benefits, if Allah wills. And I think this hadith is clear in meaning. Yes.
