Regarding the previous nations, if a specific one of the destroyed people passes by us, is it appropriate for a person to curse him, just as we attach mercy to the righteous ones we mentioned?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student: O Shaykh! May Allah reward you: In mentioning the previous nations, if a specific one of the destroyed people passes by us, is it appropriate for a person, meaning to attach a curse to him, just as we attach mercy or a supplication to the righteous ones we mentioned?

The Shaykh : There is no harm if we are certain, for example, you say: Pharaoh, may Allah curse him. There is no prohibition.
The student: Is there no prohibition, or is it recommended?

The Shaykh : No: I hold back from saying it is recommended because of the saying of the Messenger:
Do not curse the dead, for they have passed on to what they sent ahead. لا تسُبُّوا الأموات فإنهم أفضَوا إلى ما قَدَّمُوا
Sahih Ibn Hibban 11:132
.
The student: So... does one not leave this off, O Shaykh, because of the curse?

The Shaykh : No: Li'an is for the living, but this is a curse because Allah has cursed him.
