When the menstrual period begins after the Maghrib prayer

Question: Is it obligatory to make up the fast if a woman’s menstrual period begins after the Maghrib prayer, or before the prayer after breaking the fast?

Answer: She does not have to make up the fast if she completed the fast and then menstruation began after the sun had set, even if it was before the prayer; in that case, she owes nothing. Likewise, if it happens after the prayer, it is even more so the case that she owes nothing. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions.
