The reciter: Yahya ibn Yahya al-Tamimi narrated to us, Salim ibn Akhdar narrated to us, from Ibn Awn, who said:
I wrote to Nafi' asking him about the supplication before battle. He said: He wrote to me: That was only in the early days of Islam. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raided Banu al-Mustaliq while they were in their tents and their livestock were drinking at the water source. He killed their fighters and took their captives. On that day, he took—Yahya said: I think he said—Juwayriyyah, or he said: al-Batata, the daughter of al-Harith.
