Continuation of the explanation of the author's statement: "and right-hand preference."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He said, and they also cited as evidence the hadith of al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, in which he said, "So he wiped over his leather socks," and did not mention right-hand preference. Some of the scholars said that one should prefer the right side because wiping is a branch of the full ritual bath, and because they are two limbs, one of which is distinguished from the other, unlike the head. As for al-Mughirah not mentioning right-hand preference, it is said that this is known from the guidance of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he liked right-hand preference, just as if someone said, for example, in the ablution, "then he washed his feet," and did not mention the right foot before the left foot. And this is the closest view: the closest view is that you begin with the right before the left.
