Explanation of the reason that necessitates not being content with the name "Muslims" alone, and adding to it the term "Salafi"

The Shaykh : And finally, I say a word: Some people think that when they hear this explanation, it is reasonable and beautiful, but is it not better that we remain, when our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) named us Muslims, simply Muslims? I say: Yes, without doubt, that is the best, but that is only when it is possible to remain, when it is possible to stay with this designation, when it is possible to preserve this designation. And this, without doubt, cannot be imagined to be realized except when all Muslims return to being truly Muslim, when all these designations that we spoke about, and their dangers, and their consequences that contradict the Shari'ah, are eliminated. As for the majority of the people of the Sunnah, they belong to one of these four schools of jurisprudence. And if we return to them their disapproval of our belonging to the righteous Salaf, our disapproval of them, if we return to them their disapproval of us regarding our belonging to the righteous Salaf, we return to them this disapproval, as our disapproval of them for their affiliation to the Hanafi or Shafi'i school. If they remain satisfied with their various, multiple affiliations to a person who is not infallible, which has those effects that we illustrated with some of them, how is it permissible for us to submit to their request that we not affiliate ourselves to the righteous Salaf, in which there is infallibility as we mentioned, while they affiliate themselves to individual scholars in which there is no infallibility as we have explained? So, the day these deniers of this true designation adopt the principle of returning to the divine name, that we are content with being Muslims and that is all, and they apply that to themselves, on that day it is possible, I say: it is possible, that we agree not to affiliate ourselves to any designation other than that we are Muslims. And I do not say certainly, I say: it is possible. That is because I imagine that no matter how much the Muslims strive, and their number has reached eight hundred million or nine million Muslims, no matter how much the best of them strive to remain holding fast to the Book and the Sunnah, a large portion of them will remain deviating from the Book and the Sunnah. And this deviation will lead them to remain in their many deviations, among which is: affiliating oneself to the non-infallible. I give you a clear example, and perhaps I have prolonged this on you too much: Among the deviant sects whose deviation is clear today are the Qadianis. If all Muslims agreed to drop all these designations and be content with saying: We are Muslims, and there is no affiliation except to Islam, and the Qadianis also affiliate themselves to Islam, how do we distinguish ourselves from these deviants from our religion?! Especially since they will continue to say: We are Ahmadis, meaning they affiliate themselves to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad al-Qadiani, meaning the prophet who came about a century ago, but despite that they say they are Muslims. If you ask him, "What is your religion?" he will tell you: Muslim. "What is your school of jurisprudence?" he will tell you: I am an Ahmadi. "And you, O Muslim who is not Ahmadi, what is your religion?" You will say: Muslim. "What is your school of jurisprudence?" By Allah, I have no school of jurisprudence. "You must have a school of jurisprudence, because there are other schools of jurisprudence existing." So, at that time, the truth will become confused with falsehood, so it is necessary for the Muslim to clarify what his school of jurisprudence is, because the Muslims have not all returned to the Islam that He revealed upon the heart of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and there is no school of jurisprudence there. Our imagination that Muslims will one day return to having no affiliation except one, which is Islam, this imagination is a fantasy that cannot be realized. Nevertheless, we say: Assuming that this fantasy becomes a reality, on that day we say: there is no affiliation there except to Islam. But in terms of reality, this is very far from being realized. For this reason, I say: From a realistic standpoint, the Muslim must affiliate himself to a designation that reveals the truth of his school of jurisprudence by which he worships Allah. And since, as we said, the reality is that the majority of Muslims are satisfied with these many, numerous affiliations, all of which do not lead to infallibility, it is more fitting, then more fitting, then more fitting that we remain holding fast to this affiliation to infallibility. Because I said that this affiliation is to the righteous Salaf, and at their head is Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), meaning the affiliation to the certain, definitive consensus in which the Messenger said: . So, in this designation, we affiliate ourselves to the consensus from which it is not permissible for any Muslim to exit or to disavow. And as it was said: In conclusion, I say:
"This difference between us is sufficient, *** And every vessel is known by what it contains"
And peace be upon you,[Ash-Shuraa 42:40], the Mother of the Believers with the excessive disbeliever, the enemy who declares enmity to the Master of the Prophets, so what about you and your Muslim brother on the Salafi methodology, you must be with each other. And the Messenger (peace be upon him) says: Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 1:57. The believer is also easy-going and gentle, so this harshness and severity between you, it is a strange and condemned matter, fully condemned, because if this harshness is between you, welcome.
