Does the traveler complete the prayer if the hardship is removed?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is there a report from the Salaf regarding completing the prayer while traveling and the statement that the hardship has been removed?

Answer:
It is established from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she used to complete the prayer while traveling, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) approved of her. In one narration, it is stated that she did so after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and another narration reports that he (peace and blessings be upon him) approved of her. However, the preserved report from her is that she said: "It does not burden me." She used to pray four rak'ahs and say: "It does not burden me." This is the position of the majority of scholars; because shortening the prayer is a recommended practice (sunnah), not an obligation, just as breaking the fast in Ramadan is better, while fasting while traveling is permissible.
Q: If the hardship is removed, does he complete the prayer?
The Shaykh: No, the recommended practice (sunnah) for the traveler is to shorten the prayer absolutely, even if he is resting. The traveler prays two rak'ahs, but if he completes the prayer, there is no blame on him. Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) used to complete the prayer with the Companions in the last part of his life during his pilgrimages. And Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I wish my share of the four rak'ahs were two accepted rak'ahs." It was said to him: "Do you not pray two?" He said: "I dislike disagreement." He used to pray with him, four rak'ahs in his last pilgrimages, Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) .
