Ruling on the one who says: “I give you the paper” intending divorce, then says: “For ten”

Question: From Abdulaziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz, to the honorable brother / A. M. S., may Allah guide him to all good, amen.
Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. After that:
O Beloved: Your noble letter dated 9/8/1389 AH has reached us, may Allah guide you. It contained the information that a misunderstanding occurred between you and your wife, so you said to her: “Be quiet, or I will give you the paper.” She said: “You mean divorce.” I said: “Yes.” She said: “For ten.” I said: “For ten.” She said: “For a hundred.” I said: “For a hundred.” She said: “For a thousand.” I said: “For a thousand.” Your request for a fatwa was known.
The answer: If the situation is as you described, then this divorce of yours is reprehensible, and it is obligatory for you to repent from it. I do not see a way for you to do so until you marry a woman other than your wife; a marriage for the sake of desire, not a marriage for the purpose of facilitating remarriage, and you must have intercourse with her. This is because every phrase of your speech resulted in a divorce, and by that, you have exhausted the three divorces. May Allah protect everyone from the whispers of Satan.
And peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
