The Ruling on Cheating in Examinations

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on cheating during exams? I see many students cheating, and I advise them, but they say: "There is nothing wrong with it?" Please inform us—may Allah reward you with good. And peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.

Answer:
Cheating in exams, in acts of worship, and in transactions is forbidden; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever cheats us is not one of us.من غشنا فليس منا
Sunan Ibn Majah 2225Da'if (Darussalam)
, and because of the many harms it causes in this world and the Hereafter; so it is obligatory to be cautious of it and to advise one another to leave it.
