The worshippers in the Haram and women passing in front of them: does it break their prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: I have found a hadith with this text:
If one of you is praying in a prayer and a donkey, a black dog, or a woman passes in front of him, then his prayer is invalid.إذا كان أحدكم يصلي في صلاة فمر أمامه حمار أو كلب أسود أو امرأة فإن صلاته باطلة
If the text of the hadith is authentic, what is your opinion regarding those who pray in the Noble Sanctuary while women pass in front of them, and they are performing tawaf?
A: The hadith is authentic. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
In case there is not before him (an object) like the back of a saddle, a Muslim's Salat (prayer) would be cut off by (the passing of) a woman, a donkey and a black dogيقطع صلاة الرجل إذا لم يكن بين يديه مثل آخرة الرحل المرأة والحمار والكلب الأسود
Bulugh al-Maram 2:98
It was narrated by Imam Muslim in his Sahih, and something similar was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), but it does not specify the dog as being black. The point is that this is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The rule is that the general is understood in light of the specific; so if a black dog, a donkey, or a woman passes in front of the one praying, or between him and his sutrah, each one breaks his prayer. This is how it came in the hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and it is the most correct of the opinions of the scholars. There is disagreement among the scholars regarding this:
- Some interpret it to mean that it cuts off the reward, or cuts off the perfection.
- But the correct view is that it breaks the prayer and that it is invalidated thereby.
However, what occurs in the Sacred Mosque is excused by the scholars; because in the Sacred Mosque, it is not possible for a person to guard against that due to the crowding, especially on the days of Hajj and Ramadan. So this is among the things that are excused in the Sacred Mosque and is an exception to the generality of the hadiths. So the passing of some women or those performing tawaf in front of the worshippers in the Sacred Mosque does not harm them, and their prayers are valid: the voluntary and the obligatory. This is the relied-upon view among the scholars. And success is from Allah.
