The Prayer of Seeking Guidance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: What is the method for the prayer of seeking guidance? And when is the supplication: before the closing salam or after it?

A: The prayer of seeking guidance is a recommended practice, and the supplication in it is made after the closing salam, as stated in the noble hadith.
Its description is: one prays two units of prayer like the other voluntary prayers, reciting in each unit the opening of the Book and whatever is easy of the Qur'an, then raises his hands after the closing salam and supplicates with the transmitted supplication, which is:
O Allah, I seek Your guidance by Your knowledge, and I seek Your power by Your might, and I ask You of Your great bounty. Indeed, You have power and I do not, and You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter (and he names it specifically, whether it is marriage, travel, or otherwise) is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affair, then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and then bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is evil for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affair, then turn it away from me, and turn me away from it, and decree for me the good wherever it may be, and then make me content with it.
