The ruling on medicine containing a percentage of alcohol

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
He asks another question, saying: What is the ruling on medicines that contain alcoholic solvents, and is it forbidden to trade in them?

Answer:
This requires a detailed explanation: If you know that these medicines contain something that intoxicates in large quantities, avoid them. But if you do not know, the original ruling is permissibility, and praise be to Allah. The original ruling for medicines is permissibility, and the original ruling for food is permissibility. Allah the Exalted said:
O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allahيَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِلَّهِ
[al-Baqarah:172] And Allah the Exalted said:
O mankind, eat from whatever is on earth [that is] lawful and goodيَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ كُلُوا مِمَّا فِي الأَرْضِ حَلالًا طَيِّبًا
[al-Baqarah:168].
So the original ruling is permissibility, except for what you know to be forbidden. If the doctors inform you that the medicine contains something that intoxicates in large quantities, meaning intoxicating substances, avoid it. But if that is not made clear to you, or if the doctors advise you that it is good, there is no harm, and praise be to Allah. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
