Question:
Is it a condition for establishing the proof against a group that the caller be a scholar who performs independent legal reasoning, or is it sufficient that he knows the truth with its evidence if the issue is one of the matters of creed, such as supplicating to other than Allah, worshipping graves, and the like?
Answer:
It is sufficient to establish the proof by clarifying the truth with its evidence for one who has abandoned the truth, and to advise and guide to good, from among the people of knowledge, even if they are not those who perform independent legal reasoning. Rather, it is sufficient that they know the evidences from the Islamic sacred law from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding what they call to and what they command. And the one who is called to Allah must accept the truth, and he must beware of arrogance and persisting in falsehood. If he has a doubtful matter, he should ask the people of knowledge about it in a good manner, with humility and a sound intention. Whenever the servant rectifies his intention and exerts his utmost effort in seeking the truth, Allah will make his affair easy and grant him success, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :[At-Talaq 65:2] and He will provide for him from where he does not expect [Al-Talaq: 2-3], and He said (Mighty and Majestic): [Al-Talaq: 4], and He said (Glorified and Exalted is He): : [Al-Anfal: 29]. The criterion is the light, the insight, and the beneficial knowledge. May Allah guide the Muslims to all good and rectify their leaders, for He is the All-Hearing, the Near.
