Completing the discussion on the ruling regarding smoking and how some scholars proceeded in explaining its ruling? And reciting verses of poetry on the ruling of tobacco from a legal and logical perspective.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : There is a very useful point from one of the shaykhs in Damascus. He proceeded to reach the ruling on tobacco with very sound logic. However, at that time, the medical harm of tobacco did not seem to be widely known, and therefore he hesitated. But from a jurisprudential perspective, he was very logical. He was asked about the ruling on tobacco, and he said:
"The original ruling in it, legally, is permissibility"
created for you all of that which is on the earth خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا
[Al-Baqarah 2:29]

"The original ruling in it, legally, is permissibility *** And prohibiting it absolutely is an ugliness"
An ugliness. Absolutely forbidden. We must know where this prohibition came from?
And there was a long disagreement among them *** And the clear, relied-upon position is the detailed ruling
If it harms him in mind or body *** Or if he has a dire necessity for the price
Then its use is forbidden, otherwise *** It is permissible in our law and sweet
But look now at the correction:
"But excessive use of it is distracting *** And its foul smell is prohibited
Their struggle in it is a struggle against desire *** Their silence and prohibition of it is just
Indeed, it may incite a young man obsessed *** To smoke it, and he disregards what is prohibited"
He said:
"And the ultimate point in it is that it *** Is from plants, and it is all lawful
Except that which harms the bodies *** Or the minds, for that is a different matter
Allah has informed, then the Chosen One *** About the honey of bees that it is a healing
Although it harms the one with a fever *** And the prohibition of what harms is known"
