The Ruling on Selling Incense to Women Known to Go Out Perfumed
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner, Umm Abdullah from Riyadh, says in this question that she sells incense to women, and these women to whom she sells the incense go out perfumed and wearing incense. Is there a sin on me for selling them this incense? I ask for guidance.
Answer:
If you know that these women do that, do not sell to them. If you know that they perfume themselves when they go out into the markets, do not do it; for Allah says: [Al-Ma'idah: 2].
So if you know that the woman who buys oud from you, or other perfume, displays it in the markets or in front of non-Mahram men, this is not permissible; because in this case you are assisting her in sin. But if you do not know, there is no blame on you for selling to women, and to others. But if you know that so-and-so, the daughter of so-and-so, who buys from you, does this act, do not sell to her.

And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.
