The Ruling on Kohl and Henna for Men

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother Fahd Ibrahim from Dammam asks: Is there any scriptural evidence that forbids a man from applying kohl to his eyes and henna (dye) to his hands and feet, given that the intention behind doing so is not to imitate women, but merely a custom?

Answer:
A believer must not imitate women, neither in henna nor in anything else, even if it is a custom.
cursed men who imitate women and woman who imitate menلعن المتشبهين من الرجال بالنساء، ولعن المتشبهات من النساء بالرجال
Sunan Ibn Majah 1904Sahih (Darussalam)
.
As for kohl: there is no harm in it; it is prescribed for everyone, men and women alike. There is no harm in a man applying kohl to his eyes. Kohl is pleasant and beneficial, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to apply kohl. So there is no harm in that. Yes.
