If the zakah of trade goods is paid out of the items themselves and not by their value, how do we pay the zakah on some goods or heavy equipment and the like?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Anyone else?

The questioner : Through the discussion, Shaykh, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh: Go ahead.

The questioner : I understood that from each type of merchandise, you pay out of the item itself.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : That is the current situation.

The Shaykh: Yes.

The questioner : That is, for fabric, we pay out fabric, but in some cases we cannot. For example, a person has transport trucks; how does he pay the percentage of these? Does he pay out a truck, for instance, or something like that?

The Shaykh : This is the question.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : This question is not the first one that is usually considered difficult.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : And its answer is known in the Qur'an:
fear Allah as much as you are able اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[At-Taghabun 64:16]
If you cannot get it out of this type, you get it out of another type, which is cash here. That is it.

The questioner : That is what I mean.

The Shaykh: Yes.
