Ruling on saying: (Truthful is Allah, the Magnificent) after reciting the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received by the program from one of the listening brothers, who symbolized his name with the letters (S. 'A. T). He has a collection of questions, one of which says: Is the reciter saying (Truthful is Allah, the Magnificent) upon finishing the Qur'an, constantly and aloud, part of the Sunnah? Does it have a basis in the religion of Allah, or is it a religious innovation in this description and restriction?
Please issue a ruling for us, may you be rewarded, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
We do not know of any basis for this practice, even if people have become accustomed to it; but we do not know in the Shari'ah anything that indicates it, nor do we know it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), nor from his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), so leaving it is preferable. Some scholars of knowledge argue with the saying of the Exalted:
Say, "Allah has told the truth. So follow the religion of Abrahamقُلْ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ فَاتَّبِعُوا مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
[Al-Imran: 95] But there is no evidence in the verse; the verse commands it as part of the command for the occasion that requires it. As for saying (Truthful is Allah, the Magnificent) after recitation, constantly and as a habit, this has no basis. However, if one does it for reasons, such as reflecting on the greatness of the Qur'an or the greatness of the verse, and says: Truthful is Allah, the Magnificent! How great is this Qur'an! How great is its explanation! How great is its ease! On such occasions, there is nothing wrong with it. But if one makes it a habit to say (Truthful is Allah, the Magnificent) every time he finishes reciting verses or a surah, we do not know of any basis for that, and the prescribed course is to leave it. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
