How a Woman Recites in the Audible Prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner, who used the initials (A. M. 'A) for her name, asks: Does a woman recite quietly at all times during the prayer, given that quiet recitation is the recommended practice in the places of quiet recitation and loud recitation is the recommended practice in the places of loud recitation?

Answer:
Both the woman and the man must seek to follow the Sunnah. They should recite loudly in the first and second rak'ahs of Maghrib, the first and second rak'ahs of 'Isha', and the obligatory Fajr prayer. They should recite quietly in the first and second rak'ahs of Zuhr and 'Asr, and in the third rak'ah of Maghrib and the third and fourth rak'ahs of 'Isha. This applies to both men and women. A woman should raise her voice if she is in a place where she fears nothing regarding privacy, such as if there are only women with her, or if no one is with her, or if there are only her mahrams (close relatives) with her; in that case, she recites loudly. If there are non-mahrams present, she should raise her voice slightly in the places of loud recitation, because this is the Sunnah for everyone, men and women alike: loud recitation and quiet recitation.

The presenter: May Allah reward you.
