The disbelief of one who abandons prayer out of denial

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Or a question was raised for you, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : A man who does not pray, or who missed a prayer—he used to pray but missed several prayers. News of him reached the Muslim ruler. They said, "Bring him here! Will you pray or will we kill you?" He said, "I will not pray." If he says, "I will not pray," is he a disbeliever and no longer a Muslim? No one says it that way. Ibn Taymiyyah said that if he says, "I will not pray," he is safe. But if he says, "I will not pray" and is killed, does he die as a disbeliever and an apostate, and is he not buried in the Muslim cemeteries? Why? Because conclusive evidence has been established that he does not pray out of belief.
The student : Out of denial.

The Shaykh : Why?
The student : Out of denial.

The Shaykh : Yes, because he was given the choice between praying or being killed, and continuing in his stubbornness by not praying, so he was killed. He preferred death to praying. This means he is a disbeliever with a belief-based disbelief—what happened to him, he is going from here—
The student : From here, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : From here, do you not want me to take you to the house?
The student: Yes.

The Shaykh : You did this just now.
The student : From the other street.
Another student: ... the road is long ... .

The Shaykh : A nice patchwork that is.
The student : Because you do not have a car, what do you think, shall we take you to the mosque to pray because you do not have a car?

The Shaykh : Where is the mosque?
The student : The mosque next to your house, it will take about fifteen minutes, what do you think?

The Shaykh : No, take me to the house.
The student : To the house, understood.

The Shaykh : ... renewing the ablution in a special way.
The student : Yes, here, O our Shaykh.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : May Allah bless you with apparent and hidden blessings, did you not think to write a note on the book ... .

The Shaykh : My brother, I think a lot, but I cannot do much because a person's capacity is limited. What am I supposed to do, this or that or that?
The student : She is wearing a hijab.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : She is wearing a hijab.

The Shaykh : Wearing a hijab, is she not?
The student : They say about us, our Saudi brothers say, "You Levantines, the woman's awrah (part of the body that must be covered) with you is from the navel to the knee."

The Shaykh : No, you answer them.
The student : Yes.

The Shaykh : Tell them, our belief is not like that, but you see that the belief is that the woman's awrah (part of the body that must be covered) with a woman is from the navel to the knee.
The student : Convey this to them, O Shaykh.
