The Maghrib adhan was called, but she thought it was the Isha adhan, so she prayed four rak'ahs. Does she have to repeat the Maghrib prayer?

Question:
This is a message we received from the citizen (Sh. Muhammad. Sh.) from al-Majma'ah. In her message, she says:
The Maghrib adhan was called, and I thought it was the adhan for the last Isha prayer, so I prayed Maghrib four rak'ahs with that intention. When I sat down with the rest of the family and my children, and the adhan for Isha was called, I objected to it, and they informed me that the adhan for Isha had not been called until just now. Do I have to repeat the Maghrib prayer or not?
May Allah guide you.

Answer:
Maghrib is three rak'ahs, not four. Maghrib is three, not four. If she prayed Maghrib three rak'ahs with the intention of Maghrib, and then heard the adhan and prayed Isha thinking it was the Isha adhan, and she had delayed Maghrib thinking it was the Isha prayer, then she only has to repeat the Isha prayer.
However, if she did not pray Maghrib, and prayed Isha before praying Maghrib, thinking that the adhan was the Isha adhan, and she forgot Maghrib and did not pray it, then she must repeat it. She should come and pray Maghrib, and then repeat Isha; because she prayed Isha outside its time, and she prayed it before Maghrib.
It is obligatory that Isha be prayed after Maghrib, not before Maghrib. If she prayed Maghrib after the sun set, it suffices for Maghrib. As for Isha, she must repeat it; because she prayed it before its time, if the Isha adhan was called at the beginning of the time. And if the adhan she heard was the Maghrib adhan and she prayed thinking it was Isha, then she must repeat Isha; she must repeat Isha because she performed it outside its time, and prayer outside its time is not valid. But if she did not pray Maghrib, she must perform Maghrib. She must perform Maghrib, and then pray Isha. Yes.

The presenter: According to her message, she prayed Isha at the time of Maghrib, and then when the Isha adhan was called, she prayed Isha. But did she pray Maghrib with the intention of Isha?

The Shaykh: No, that is not valid. That is not valid. She must pray Maghrib three rak'ahs. Praying Maghrib with the intention of Isha for four rak'ahs is a mistake. A Muslim knows Maghrib and Isha. Maghrib is three and Isha is four, for a resident it is four.
So the conclusion is: if she prayed Maghrib in its time, then praise be to Allah, and she must repeat Isha; because she prayed it outside its time. And if she did not pray Maghrib, but only prayed Isha with the intention of Maghrib for four rak'ahs, then this is a mistake and invalid. So she must pray Maghrib first: she must make up this Maghrib, and then pray the Isha that she performed outside its time. Yes.
