Question:
We ask you, Your Eminence, to issue a call to the people in which you clarify the importance of calling to Allah and informing people of the meaning of "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah)?
Answer:
In the great Book of Allah, there is sufficient great guidance, and a call to this great truth. Indeed, their Lord, may He be exalted, called them in His great Book in many verses to worship Him alone. And so the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) called them to that in Makkah and al-Madinah for a period of twenty-three years, calling to Allah and informing people of their religion. As He, may He be exalted, said: [al-Baqarah: 21], and He, may He be exalted, said: [al-Baqarah: 163], and He, may He be exalted, said: [al-Isra: 23], and He, Glorious and Exalted is He, said: [Az-Zumar 39:2] "Know that it is to Allah alone that pure religion belongs" [al-Zumar: 2-3], and He, may He be exalted, said: [Ghafir: 14]. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: : [Muhammad: 19]... In many verses. And He, may He be exalted, said: [al-Bayyinah: 5].
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:Sahih al-Bukhari 2856 It is agreed upon as authentic. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sahih Muslim 93b.
It is obligatory upon all the people of the earth who are accountable to worship Allah alone, and to say: "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah), and to testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and to single out Allah for their supplication, their fear, their hope, their seeking of aid, their fasting, their prayer, and the rest of their acts of worship. And so their circumambulation of the Ka'bah; they circumambulate the Ka'bah to draw near to Allah and to worship Him alone (Glorified and Exalted is He) . And they should beware of calling upon other than Allah, whether the people of graves, or idols, or prophets, or anything else. For worship is the right of Allah alone, and it is not permissible for anyone to direct it to other than Him (Glorified and Exalted is He) .
And worship: is a comprehensive name for everything that Allah loves and is pleased with, of words and deeds, apparent and hidden. So prayer is worship, and fasting is worship, and charity is worship, and Hajj is worship, and fear of Allah is worship, and hope in Him is worship, and vows are worship, and slaughter is worship, and so on. It must be for Allah alone. So one does not slaughter except for Allah, does not pray except for Allah, does not prostrate except for Allah, and fear, the fear of the hearts, is not from anyone but Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) . And so one does not seek aid except from Allah, and does not ask for support except from Him (Glorified and Exalted is He) ; because He is their Creator, their Lord, and the true object of worship (Glorified and Exalted is He) . And Allah sent all the messengers with this, from the first of them to the last, from the first of them, Nuh (Noah), to the last of them, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). All of them called people to the oneness of Allah. As He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: : [al-Nahl: 36]... And He, may He be exalted, said: [al-Anbiya: 25]. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say to the people of Makkah: Sunan al-Bayhaqi 1:325.
This is the obligation upon all the accountable, of men and women, of non-Arabs and Arabs, of jinn and humans, in all the land of Allah. It is obligatory upon them to worship Allah alone, and to say: "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah), and to single Him out for worship (Glorified and Exalted is He) , and not to worship with Him any other, neither an idol, nor a prophet, nor an angel, nor a jinn, nor a tree, nor anything else.
Worship is the right of Allah alone [al-Isra: 23]. This is the obligation upon all the accountable, of jinn and humans, of Arabs and non-Arabs, of males and females, of kings and common people. It is obligatory upon all of them to worship Allah alone, and to single Him out for their supplication, their fear, their hope, their reliance, their seeking of aid, their vows, their slaughter, their prayer, their fasting, and the like. As He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: : [al-Nisa: 36]... [al-Isra: 23]... [al-Fatihah: 5]... [al-Bayyinah: 5]. But the fear of a person regarding what harms him, and taking means, this is not included in worship. So his fear of a thief until he locks the door, and he takes a guard, there is no harm in that. As Allah said about Musa (Moses), peace be upon him, when he feared Pharaoh, He said: [al-Qasas: 21], meaning: he was afraid of the evil of Pharaoh.
So the fear of tangible matters, and the fear of oppressors, and taking means, this is not included in worship. So if he fears thieves and locks his door, or places a guard over his wealth, or fears when traveling from thieves or highway robbers, and carries a weapon, and takes the safe road, all of this is permissible.
And so if he fears hunger, he eats; if he fears thirst, he drinks; if he fears cold, he wears what warms him, and the like. All of these are known tangible matters, and there is no harm in them. And so if he seeks the help of his brother in his farm, in repairing his car, in building his house, these are ordinary matters not included in worship. As He, may He be exalted, said: [al-Qasas: 15], meaning: Musa (Moses). These are ordinary matters that the created being is capable of. So dealing with the living, present created being in things he is capable of, such as cooperation in building, in farming, in jihad, or otherwise, this is not included in what pertains to worship.
But calling upon him while he is dead, calling upon the tree, calling upon the idol, calling upon the jinn, calling upon the angels, calling upon the prophets to seek their aid, this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah). Or calling upon the living in matters they are not capable of, believing that they have control over the universe, as some of the Sufis do with their shaykhs, calling upon them with Allah, and believing that they have control over the universe, and that they have a secret by which they can know the unseen, or benefit people with what no one but Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is capable of. These are matters of shirk (associating partners with Allah), even with the living. We ask Allah for safety. And success is from Allah. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He accept from you.

So worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion.
So invoke Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, although the disbelievers dislike it.
So know, [O Muhammad], that there is no deity except Allah and ask forgiveness for your sin
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
Allah's right on His slaves is that they should worship Him (Alone) and should not worship any besides Him
Whoever dies while invoking with Allah a rival will enter the Fire
He who met Allah without associating anything with Allah entered Paradise and he who met Him associating (anything) with Him entered Fire.

And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."
O my people, say: "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah) and you will succeed.

It is You we worship and You we ask for help.
And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion.
So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension].
So the fear of tangible matters, and the fear of oppressors, and taking means, this is not included in worship. the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy
But calling upon him while he is dead, calling upon the tree, calling upon the idol, calling upon the jinn, calling upon the angels, calling upon the prophets to seek their aid, this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah).
