Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A letter was received for the program from one of the listening brothers, containing a set of questions. The listener is (A. H) from Sharqia Governorate, Arab Republic of Egypt. In his first question, he says: If a person touches his private parts, or the private parts of one of his children, for example, or if a mother touches one of her children, is it obligatory for her to repeat the wudu?

Answer:
Yes, if a person touches his private parts directly, meaning: skin touching skin, touching the private part: the penis or the anus, the wudu is invalidated. Likewise, if a woman touches her private part or the private part of one of her children, the wudu is invalidated; because of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who touches his penis should perform ablution.من مس ذكره فليتوضأ
Sunan Abi Dawud 181Sahih (Al-Albani)
and because of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Whoever places his hand on his private part without a barrier between them has to perform the ablutionمن أفضى بيده إلى فرجه ليس دونهما ستر فقد وجب عليه الوضوء
So if he touches it directly, the wudu is invalidated.
As for if it is through clothing, through a garment, through trousers, it does not harm. It only harms if skin touches skin, if his hand touches the private part, and there is no barrier between them. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
