The Ruling on Kissing Hands After Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother asks another question and says: Among some of the believing brothers, after every obligatory prayer, some of them kiss the hands of others. Is this correct or not?

Answer:
It is better not to do that; because it was not the custom of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to kiss his hand, but rather some of them did it rarely, so the best in such a case is to follow the example of the Companions with their Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), which is only shaking hands, but if one does it rarely and infrequently with his father, or with a Sunni scholar who follows the Sunnah, there is nothing wrong with that.
But it should not be made a habit; because it was not the custom of the Companions with their Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the best is to leave off kissing hands and suffice with shaking hands. And if one returns from a journey, he embraces his brother with an embrace or kisses the space between his eyes, there is no harm. But making kissing the hand a habit is not permissible, rather it is disliked.

The presenter: May Allah bless you.
