A student’s report to the Shaykh about some university professors and their anomalous fatwas!

The questioner : The point is that there is a professor at the university who permits a woman to wear trousers at home. That is the first point. Second, he says that it is permissible for a woman to pray in trousers, though it is disliked.

The Shaykh : It is a recommended dislike (makruh tanzih). This is certainly a Shafi'i. He follows the Shafi'i school, not the Salafi methodology, is that right?

The questioner : So I found out he is not a traditionalist.

The Shaykh : Rather, he is a fabricator.

The questioner: Yes.

The Shaykh : He fabricates.

The questioner : So, glory be to Allah, this is one of the strangest of these issues. Naturally, he said to you, a few days ago, I asked him about you. And in truth, he is not worthy of giving an opinion about you.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : But I wanted him to know what is in his heart.

The Shaykh : Very good.

The questioner : So he said, in truth, he said that in this era, no one like him has come, meaning there is no one like him in tracing hadiths. And despite this, errors and slips have occurred in the Shaykh, which Allah (Mighty and Majestic) may forgive him for, but regarding your praise of him in this.
