Ruling on leaving the mushaf open and placing it on the ground

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is there any blame in leaving the mushaf open?

Answer:
As far as I know, there is nothing wrong with it if it is in a safe place. As far as I know, there is nothing wrong with it if it is in a cabinet, a shelf, or something similar. However, it is better to close it so that nothing that causes harm falls into it, such as dust, sticks, or dirt; doing so keeps it further from harm.
What is the ruling on placing the mushaf directly on the ground?
The Shaykh: It is better to place it on something raised, such as a chair, a cabinet, or a shelf. This is better. It was reported in the story of the two Jews when the Jews brought them to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to establish the hadd upon them. They said that they did not find in the Torah anything except that they should shave their heads. So he asked for the Torah, and the Torah was brought. He placed it on a chair and then looked into it, and he found in it the hadd of stoning. The placement of the Torah on a chair indicates that this is what is appropriate for the books of Allah. The Qur'an is greater, so it is better, more appropriate, and safer to place it on something raised. However, if that is not feasible and he places it on clean ground, there is no blame. And if it is feasible to place it on something raised, such as a cabinet, a chair, or a shelf, that is better and more complete.
