What is the minimum number of men in a high chain of narration for a hadith?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The minimum number of men in a high chain?

Answer:
There is no fixed limit; the minimum is two men: a Tabi'i and a Companion. For example: Malik from Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar. This is the minimum; this is the highest. Between them and the Companion is only one person, like Malik, al-Thawri, and the great imams like al-Awza'i. Between them and the Companions is one person. There is no limit to going lower.
