The Relationship of Hasan al-Saqaf with the Sufis of the Hijaz

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The student : As for *Al-Tanaqudat* (The Contradictions), it is distributed widely in Makkah and Riyadh. When they heard about my book, they said they would also ban al-Saqaf’s book *Al-Tanaqudat*, but they

The Shaykh : did not do it.
The student : did not do it.

The Shaykh: Allah is the Greatest!
The student : Why is it that when our brother 'Isam went to get approval for the book *I'lam Ahl al-Insaf bi-Haqiqat al-Saqaf* (Informing the People of Justice of the Truth about al-Saqaf), they conditioned it on removing the word "Fadilat" (Venerable)The Shaykh : Al-Albani. They conditioned it, and that is, of course, a lie about whom? About al-Saqaf. Remove this word and come review it with us. So he went to them and brought his book, which attacksThe Shaykh : and slandersThe Shaykh : He told them, "This was old; now it is different."

The Shaykh : Allah is sufficient for me.
The student : It appears that he is supported, or was supported, by the Sufis of the people of the Hijaz and so on.

The Shaykh : Yes, certainly, certainly. It is apparent that he is originally a Sufi.
The student : His roots.

The Shaykh : His roots.
The student: Correct.

The Shaykh : I have a paper; I do not know if you have seen it or not? The conclusionThe Shaykh : Muhammad Nasif (may Allah have mercy on him) addresses this last regarding al-Saqaf’s house: "And there is a poetry collection by Sayyid 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abd Allah al-Saqaf, whom his friends call the Mufti of Hadramawt, and the collection was printed with commentary by his son, Sayyid Hasan al-Saqaf." Of course, this could be from his fathers or grandfathers. "And the collection contains poems of shirk (associating partners with Allah), and the one who verified the collectionThe Shaykh : was Hasanin Makhluf, the former Mufti of Egypt."
The student : Yes, exactly.

The Shaykh : "And it was printed at the Arab Committee for Expression Press in Cairo. The collection was printed at the expense of two merchant brothers who were named on the first edition, then they hid their names on the second edition; it was not mentioned that they printed it and spent good money on a good thing. May Allah guide us all to His obedience and protect us from His disobedience. In the aforementioned collection, there is a poem directed by Sayyid 'Abd al-Rahman al-Saqaf to the Imam of Yemen, Yahya Hamid al-Din (may Allah have mercy on him), and the Imam’s response to it. The following verses are excerpted from page 446: 'We curse your lineage, and upon them *** The God curses them repeatedly, forever. How will your enemy be saved if *** You come on the Day of Reckoning with the Virgin, gathered.'"
The student: There is no power nor strength except with Allah.

The Shaykh : Yes, the Imam’s response refutes him on page such-and-such: "We follow the noble Sunnah *** More honorable than the Sunnah of the best of those who trod the earth. We do not accept the Rafidah’s doctrine *** Nor is it like the compulsion of Jahm." Or what? "Compulsion." Yes. The conclusion: This house is the house of al-Saqaf, Sufis, meaning submerged in shirk and in misguidance.
The student: Allah is the Greatest!

The Shaykh : So I thought at first that this Hasan al-Saqaf, with whom we are afflicted here, has no connection to these people.
The student : Of course, Shaykh, when he mentions his lineage.

The Shaykh : Hmm.
The student : He mentions these people among them.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : My grandfather, Alawi so-and-so, the author of such-and-such book and the author of such-and-such book.

The Shaykh: Correct.
The student : But, Shaykh, one of the young men mentioned something to me. One of the young men was from whose group? From al-Saqaf’s group. He mentioned to his brother, and the brother relates to me, meaning there is an intermediary in the text, he said.

The Shaykh: Yes.
The student : He said: "I am carrying this campaign because Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab killed one of my grandfathers."

The Shaykh: Ah...
The student : Do you see, Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Yes.
The student : He says because he killed one of my grandfathers. Do you see what this is... He says, "Hasan ibn 'Ali ibn Hashim ibn Ahmad ibn Alawi ibn Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn so-and-so, all of them, Allah is the Greatest over them."
